The Client
Lewis Office is an HNI startup that offers inspirational designs and decor within the context of small offices and young startups. Lewis Office offers a straightforward approach to buying furniture, from how products are designed to the ordering experience, and tool-less assembly for easy installation.
The Situation
Lewis Office needed to move quickly on its digital transformation. This included working through the digital experience as the brand was still evolving. This can present challenges if teams aren’t aligned. Early on HS2 Solutions worked with Lewis Office to embrace a startup mentality so digital teams could work quickly and iteratively in real time.A Drupal 8 site delivered on the Acquia Platform would provide the technology to help meet the project’s ambitious goals.
The Challenge
Together HNI and HS2 established several core experience pillars to inform the customer experience. They included creating a product “narrowing” process that made selecting furniture engaging and easy, streamlining the checkout process, creating a great aesthetic for the product line, and building a business that addressed an unserved $2 billion segment of the market. HS2’s design and engineering team worked collaboratively with HNI to prototype a concept and establish the brand. The team then embarked on an integrated design and build sprints to evolve the experience and implementation in real time with client feedback.
The Solution
Leveraging the Acquia Platform provided a fast start and removed complexities around capacity planning. Lewis is expected to grow rapidly, and the Acquia Platform provides a cloud solution that will grow with the startup.
The Results
HNI was able to bring a new furniture shopping model to market faster than ever before and have the early lead in an underserved market. Initial piloting with selected potential customers has been favorable and HNI is now bringing it out to a broader market.
